SAKAN “real impact”

After launching the “SAKAN blog” and carrying out hundreds of interviews and surveys with women from different social statuses and backgrounds; both locals and expats living in Amman, Jordan, and going through difficult experiences with finding a place and flatmates (for years) myself, I realized the pressing need for a platform designed only for women to find housing in a “safe”, “on-cost”, and “timely” manner! As well as matching them up with compatible female flatmates.

The only thing that made sense to do next is to take responsibility and immediate action and create the platform from scratch (SAKAN is now operational in Amman, Jordan, and soon in other cities and countries).

After putting in more than 2,000 hours (around a year) in the study, research, intensive planning, and content creation, another 150 hours in web development, and around 5,000 USD, I ended up creating this beautiful grace called “SAKAN platform” offering a service called “SAKAN rent” for free for women (both locals and expats).

SAKAN has helped more than 220 women find a new home in only 3 months since its launch, and I’m looking to 10X this number in the very near future!

SAKAN (the whole brand: the platform, the blog, and the social media accounts) is managed by one person Me! (of course, SAKAN will expand and bring in some employees to help out, once we start to be profitable).

I’m very keen to start the next phase of SAKAN, as it will be more focused on B2B to have more reach & be able to support as many women as possible.

You can help us help more women and sustain the platform (until we start being profitable and/or receive a grant/a fund) by contributing here:

P.S.:

Every 7 USD helps us find housing for 1 woman.
